InterMixx Membership Agreement and Guidelines

First of all... Welcome to all our NEW MEMBERS!
This is a statement of the purpose and guidelines determined for InterMixx by its original Founding Members. You may want to reference this info occasionally to keep it fresh in your memory, it's also subject to change so please contact us with any questions about new policies as they arise. This serves as an official statement of the agreement between InterMixx and its Members (Customers and/or Merchants), and by joining InterMixx you have certified that you understand and will abide by this agreement.

As some of our long-time members know, we spent considerable time discussing the purpose and goals of the "internetwork" we have created with InterMixx. I think we should all be proud of what we have accomplished thus far. InterMixx would not be successful without you.

The main thing to remember is that a large number of Music Industry people from a huge geographic area are all communicating and networking regularly via our discussion groups, the Independent Music Conference, the InterMixx independent music magazine and our IndieGate storefront. Those are our main goals... communication and networking. We also strive, through the many features, services and resources we offer, to assist independent musicians with the advancement of their music businesses.

I think it is far more desirable to encourage the statement of opinions, and the expression of music related ideas, than to specialize the purpose of the internetwork so specifically that we DIScourage any conversation and interaction at all.

InterMixx is an indie music industry pioneer, having been founded in 1988. The InterMixx IndieGate is one of the powerful tools we provide to our members, to further assist them in advancing their independent music careers. Please also check out our InterMixx independent music magazine and our annual Independent Music Conference.

The important rules to remember in the InterMixx community are really quite simple:

  1. Common Courtesy: Be NICE to each other!
  2. NO FLAMES: The first rule should make this obvious, but now it's official! ;)
  3. Economy of IndieList Posts: Send ONE large post with multiple responses, do not send "one-liners," "thank you's," or "me too" posts. Do not send multiple, lengthy posts, be brief and efficient with your messages, really try to make them worthwhile reading for all of us!
  4. No Personal Messages on the IndieList: Please make sure your post is relevant to a large group of people.
  5. Honesty: Do not misrepresent yourself, violation of this rule can get you kicked out fast!
  6. Tolerance: Don't be hasty with the "send" button, think about your responses to the IndieList, and be patient, professional and courteous at all events.
  7. Netiquette: It is obvious that all basic rules of Netiquette should also be followed when communicating via email with anyone in the internetwork.
  8. Applicable Laws: You must also observe all laws relating to communication and speech. You are not to use the internetwork as a way to defame other members or non-members.
  9. Non-Authorized Forwards: Reprinting, quoting, or forwarding of any correspondence to or from the private forum of the IndieList is expressly forbidden without the consent of the original author.
  10. Privileged information: You understand and agree that what we discuss on the IndieList pertains to our internal management of InterMixx and the IndieGate and should be considered privileged information. You agree that this information will not be discussed or disseminated outside of the IndieList. Basically, we should keep our business to ourselves unless we decide to tell the world,OK?

The main purposes of the InterMixx InterNetwork are:

  1. Communication between trustworthy Music Industry people who are supportive of the indie market and indie musicians.
  2. Support each other and create a trusted network of musicians and business people.
  3. InterNetworking: Exchange contact info, supplier and manufacturer info, and rate resources for trustworthiness and reliability.
  4. Marketing to music fans: Sell your products through the IndieGate online indie music store.
  5. Marketing to musicians: Offer your products and services to our Members at a special discount through InterMixx.
  6. Promotion: Tell the Members about special offers. Promote your band's gigs, etc...
  7. Advertise to fans through the InterMixx independent music magazine and other avenues that we provide.
  8. Oh yeah... and FUN! : ) Enjoy yourselves! "If it ain't fun, it ain't worth doin'."

By joining InterMixx you also agree to:

  1. Provide InterMixx.com, Inc. with accurate and truthful information. Violation will be cause for immediate revocation of membership and denial of all services and benefits.
  2. Abide by all rules and Guidelines as stated in this document, or be subject to revocation of membership and denial of all services and benefits.
  3. Allow the InterMixx IndieGate to sell your products until such time as you have paid the removal processing fee and notified us in writing of your wish to cancel your membership.
  4. Hold InterMixx.com, Inc. harmless for any discontinuance, modification of, or lack of member benefits.
  5. If additional services or optional benefits are purchased, be aware of their limited and basic nature as membership perks, and maintain realistic and reasonable expectations.
  6. If Web hosting or Web site design benefits are purchased, be aware of their limited and basic nature as membership perks, and maintain realistic and reasonable expectations. Site design will be based upon the basic member-site template and be considered completed when it is launched as a live site on the internet. Additional changes, design work, additions and updates will be billable on a per-job basis.
  7. Hold InterMixx.com, Inc. harmless regarding turnaround time for member-benefit services. Be aware that turnaround time for design work may take several weeks or months. InterMixx makes no claims regarding turnaround time on member-discounted web or graphic design.
  8. Keep a back-up copy of all data files. InterMixx.com, Inc. will not be held responsible for members' files.
  9. Hold InterMixx.com, Inc. harmless for any discontinuance, or down-time caused by server malfunctions or necessary maintenance work.
  10. Revocation of membership for any reason will be subject to a $25 processing fee.
  11. Removal of your product from the IndieGate for any reason will be subject to a $25 processing fee.
  12. Any product abandoned at the IndieGate becomes the property of InterMixx.com, Inc. and will remain available for purchase.
  13. Defaulting on membership Agreements will result in a $75 Penalty fee and denial of all further services as per the agreement. No refunds will be issued on defaulted agreements.

It costs only $35.00 to begin and we keep only 20% of each sale.

STEP 1: SHIP US YOUR STOCK
Just ship us at least 6 of your CDs or other product to start, along with a complete Press Kit. One of those CDs will become the store's copy with which we will create your IndieGate IndiePlayers, our unique Flash powered players which prevent unwanted downloading of your songs, while allowing your customers to hear the entire tune in high quality MP3 format.

If you also want to sell other items, i.e., T-shirts, hats, etc... please send a reasonable amount of stock. Remember, you can also sell one or all of the songs from your CD as digital singles for no additional set-up fee!

STEP 2: JOIN AS A MERCHANT MEMBER
While your products are on their way to us, you can purchase the set-up fee, create your IndieGate Merchant Account and begin building your storefront! Once you create your merchant account, you'll be able to log in to your IndieGate Merchant Interface at any time, 24-7 and have full control over your storefront and reports. Create your profile, pay your set up fee online and get started building your new storefront immediately! PLEASE READ OUR MEMBERSHIP GUIDELINES. By joining you certify that you have read and agree with these guidelines.

STEP 3: BUILD YOUR NEW INDIEGATE STOREFRONT
The all new and more powerful IndieGate allows you to control all aspects of your online store. Use the upsell feature to add powerful sales generating links between your products. Create sales and other special incentives, and use our special non-branded pages option to create an instant online store section on your own web site as well. Visitors to your web site will not see any IndieGate branding, just your products.
